Neighbourhood officers feature on Crimewatch after brave arrest

Dear Resident,

Residents across Cambridge will get a behind-the-scenes look at the bravery of their neighbourhood officers in today’s episode of Crimewatch, which features a dramatic arrest that helped make our streets safer.

The programme follows the story of how neighbourhood officers spotted a suspicious man riding an electric scooter through the city and quickly sprang into action. What followed was a tense pursuit and arrest, revealing the man was carrying a loaded gun, a large knife, class A drugs, and thousands of pounds in cash.

Thanks to the officers’ swift response and teamwork, a dangerous individual was taken off the streets and later sentenced to more than six years in prison.

Our officers are relentless and passionate about protecting the people of Cambridge. They work tirelessly to get dangerous individuals like this off the streets and into custody. We’re incredibly proud of their work.
